Laptop Recommendations

Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business Laptop Requirements and Recommendations

The Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Businessdoes not require our students to have a personal laptop. There are however many advantages to having a personal device when time doesn’t allow you to visit one of our labs or walkup kiosks. Purdue IT virtualizes most of our standard lab software and that is accessible from Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. 

Minimum Recommendations for a Windows Laptop

Mac Information

Please note that OS 12 or later is required to use our Virtual Apps.

Although Mac OS will work with most of Purdue IT's resources it is not recommended. There is some software such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and Palisade Decision Tools that will only work on Windows. To avoid these limitations a Windows computer is recommended. 

What Support Does DSB IT Offer on Personally Owned Devices?

  • We will assist with configuring email, wireless, and printing.
  • We cannot assist with troubleshooting software- and hardware-related issues. We recommend looking up a local computer repair shop for assistance with these issues.
